At its annual convention in Houston, Texas, April 25-29, 2007, the Romantic Times Book Review Magazine gave Gwynne a Career Achievement Award for her romance novels featuring African American women and men. Four other prominent writers were nominated for the award, which Gwynne won.

 

The Romantic Times award is the second such honor that Gwynne has received. In 2006 The Affaire de Coeur Magazine elected Gwynne to its HALL OF FAME in recognition of her entire body of work, thirty-three mainstream fiction and romance novels and novellas.
